A Formkit form has five parts, and each has its own tab in the builder.
- Build is the questions themselves: fields, help text, options and page breaks.
- Design is the look: theme, colours, type and logo.
- Logic is the rules that skip people past questions they do not need.
- Settings covers who the form belongs to and its links, notifications, the closing message, spam protection and the redirect after submit.
- Responses is everything that comes back.
The welcome screen
Every form opens with a welcome screen showing the title and an optional description. It is the first card on the canvas and cannot be deleted, but you can leave the description empty and it will not render.
Pages
A page break splits the form in two. Respondents see a progress indicator and move between pages with Back and Next. Without a page break, the whole form is one scroll.
Keyboard shortcuts
In the builder, press ? for the list: arrow keys move between questions, Alt with an arrow moves one, Cmd or Ctrl+D duplicates it, Delete removes it (with Undo), Cmd or Ctrl+Enter adds a question below, and Cmd or Ctrl+Shift+P previews.
