Data, retention and deletion

What Formkit stores, and how to get rid of it.

1 min readUpdated

What is stored

Responses, uploaded files, the forms themselves and the email log of everything Formkit has sent on your behalf.

Deleting responses

Delete individual responses from the drawer, or in bulk from the responses table. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no bin to restore from.

Deleting a form

Deleting a form moves it, with its responses, to Deleted for 60 days, then erases it. The confirmation says how many responses go with it.

Deleting your account

Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account, your forms, your responses and your uploaded files. Type the confirmation phrase and it cannot be undone.

Automatic deletion (Business)

On Business, Settings → Controls → Data retention erases responses, and the files uploaded with them, once they reach an age you choose, from 30 days to two years. It runs every hour and cannot be undone, so export first if you need a copy.

Who did what (Business)

Business accounts also get an audit log of publishing, team changes, API keys and sign-in rules, kept for a year.
